The Team

HEARTeens comprises four Year 5 students from NUS High School taking part in the Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes 2010. After its first successful experience in 2009, HEARTeens has decided to return once again, retaining its beneficiary of choice as the Singapore Heart Foundation.

The Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes is a program that promotes entrepreunership while developing care for the community amongst Singapore's youths by having them raise money for a charitable cause with a seed funding of S$1600.00 sponsored by Citibank. Through this project, HEARTeens wishes to:

    1. Raise funds for the Singapore Heart Foundation to benefit its beneficiaries
    2. Increase awareness of the Singapore Heart Foundation as a non-profit organization
    3. Educate the public about heart-related diseases and tips to leading a healthy life

Similar to last year, the above-mentioned goals will be attained through a series of activities, one of which is a streets sales. This year, HEARTeens will be bringing along its spanking new Mobile Cafe so that everyone can spot us more easily. A wide variety of items from cookies to nuts and fruits will be sold so that everyone can do their part for charity while eating healthily!

In addition, to promote exercise as an effective way to combat heart diseases and keeping healthy, HEARTeens will also be organizing Run For Your Life!. Run For Your Life! is a fun walk/run (it is completely up to you to run or walk) with both a competitive and non-competitive category. All participants will take home a race pack containing many attractive goodies as well as an event T-shirt! Run For Your Life! is tentatively scheduled to be held on the 17th or 24th of July (Saturday) at East Coast Park so keep those dates free to join us for a day of fun and exercise!

Do check back often to see the fun that we and our volunteers are having! If you are interested to join the team to spend your time for a meaningful cause, head towards the Volunteer Application page. Hurry, while stocks last only!
